MUSHROOMS AND RAIN By Nolan Moon Born in the spring time-shared in the fall. My favorites, I know them all. The glimmer of sea salt, As it rests on the shore. The smell of fresh holly, When it's wrapped on my door. The sight of the farmer, tilling the land. The knowledge of you, holding my hand. Finding a mushroom, In the morning grass. Watching the rainfall, this side of glass. A dust-covered road, In the heat of the summer. Finding my lost things, whereever they were. The smell of pine, While it's wrapped in flame. The touch of a kitten, When its fur is all wet. The embrace of good friends, after they've just met. The truth when given, A lie when flattering. The swoop of an eagle, And the thrust of its wings. Thoughts of my favorites, these are but a few. But most important, the love of you.
